30th May 2014 Their Royal Highnesses, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, open the completed new wing of The Wilson Cheltenham Art Gallery and Museum and are presented with a reproduction of a watercolour by Dr Edward Wilson as a token of thanks.

14th December 2011 The Centenary of Roald Amundsen reaching the South Pole was celebrated in Oslo. His Majesty King Harald V was presented with a selection of polar books to celebrate the occassion, including The Lost Photographs of Captain Scott and Edward Wilson's Antarctic Notebooks.
