  • 30th May 2014 Their Royal Highnesses, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, open the completed new wing of The Wilson Cheltenham Art Gallery and Museum and are presented with a reproduction of a watercolour by Dr Edward Wilson as a token of thanks.
  • 30th January 2014 Dr David Wilson, great nephew of Dr Edward Wilson, opens the new Paper Archive at The Wilson Cheltenham Art Gallery and Museum, putting the Wilson Family Archive on display to the public for the first time.
  • 5th October 2013 The opening of the newly refurbished and renamed The Wilson Cheltenham Art Gallery and Museum, renamed in honour of Dr Edward Wilson and the Wilsons of Cheltenham
  • 24 May - 30 August 2013 Exploring Antarctica: the final expeditions of Scott and Shackleton at the Historic Dockyard, Chatham, includes some paintings by Edward Wilson. The exhibition was visited by HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, who was presented with a copy of Edward Wilson's Antarctic Notebooks as a momento.

  • 10th November 2012 Service and commemoration at St Peter's Church, Leckhampton, Cheltenham to mark the centenary of the finding and burial of the body of Dr Edward Wilson and the other members of the Pole Party in 1912
  • 29th March 2012 Service in St Paul's Cathedral to mark the centenary of the death of Dr Edward Wilson, Captain Scott RN and Lt. Birdie Bowers, along with Captain Oates and PO Evans RN on the return from the South Pole in 1912

  • 14th December 2011 The Centenary of Roald Amundsen reaching the South Pole was celebrated in Oslo. His Majesty King Harald V was presented with a selection of polar books to celebrate the occassion, including The Lost Photographs of Captain Scott and Edward Wilson's Antarctic Notebooks.
  • 8th December 2011 Members of the Wilson family are among those invited by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II to a reception at Buckingham Palace in honour of the Scott Centenary
  • 17 November 2011 Edward Wilson's Antarctic Notebooks is launched by Sir David Attenborogh at the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust centre in Barnes, London
